A public window into who venture firms are actually hiring.

Everything on this page is checkable. The boilerplate is approved for verbatim use, the marks are yours to publish, and if you need a current number we will pull it and tell you exactly how it was measured.

Work at a VC is a free public register of open roles where the employer is the venture firm itself, rather than a company the firm has backed. Every listing is read from the firm's own careers page and carries the date that source was last checked.
Long120 words
Work at a VC is a free, public, permanently un-paywalled register of open jobs at venture capital firms, micro funds, corporate venture arms, venture studios, accelerators and other capital-side organizations. It differs from a general job board in one rule: the employer must be the venture organization itself, not a company in its portfolio. Listings are read directly from each firm's own careers page or applicant tracking board, are only published once that source has been verified as belonging to the firm, and are removed when the source has not been seen for fourteen days. Every page shows the date its source was last checked. No firm can pay to be listed, to rank higher, or to be described differently.

Why this is worth writing about

Venture is one of the most written-about industries in business and one of the least legible as a labor market. There is no published salary data, no standard title ladder, and no central place where the open seats are listed. Most of what circulates is anecdote from people already inside.

This board does not fix that. What it does is make the visible part measurable, and make the invisible part explicit. Both halves are the story.

It is also new. Work at a VC launched in August 2026 and is deliberately narrow rather than comprehensive. If you need current counts, coverage, or a cut of the data for a piece, ask and we will pull it and tell you exactly how it was measured.

Story angles we can speak to

Venture does not publish what it pays. At all.

Pay transparency law has changed hiring across most of the economy. Venture is a measurable exception: firms advertise senior investing seats with no number attached, and candidates negotiate blind. We can speak to how consistently that holds across the boards we read, and why the reasons are structural rather than accidental.

Most jobs at a venture firm are not investing jobs.

Platform, operations, finance, legal, engineering and marketing hiring outnumbers the analyst-to-partner track by a wide margin. The gap between where the attention goes and where the hiring actually happens is the entry route most people never hear about.

The title ladder does not survive contact with the data.

"Partner" can name an owner with investment authority or a seniority band in a title system. A large share of listings state no career level at all. Any story that treats venture titles as comparable across firms is building on sand.

The public market is a fraction of the real one.

Most venture roles are filled through networks and never posted. A board built only from verified firm sources shows the floor of the market rather than its size, and the difference between those two numbers is a story about how access works in this industry.

Coverage about Superscout

Nobody has written about Work at a VC yet. When that changes, verified coverage will be listed here with its publisher and date. We would rather show an empty section than imply attention we have not had.

Marks and images

Use these as they are. Do not recolor the mark, stretch it, or set the wordmark in another typeface. The name is written Work at a VC, with spaces, in running text and in headlines.

How the site works

Work at a VC is maintained by a very small editorial operation with a large amount of automation. That explains why the board is deliberately narrow, why corrections are handled personally, and why there is no press office to route a question through.

A founder biography and photograph are available on request, and we would rather send you a current one than have you use whatever a search returns. Ask through the press form.

We can speak on the record about how the inventory is collected and verified, what the board covers and deliberately excludes, and what the current data shows about venture hiring. We do not comment on any individual firm’s hiring intentions, and we will not confirm or deny whether a named person has applied for anything.
