Applying

How applying works here

Where the apply button takes you, what we never do on your behalf, and what to do when a firm's form is broken.

The short version

You apply on the firm's own site. We link you there and get out of the way.

What happens when you press apply

  1. You land on the employer's application, run by them or by their applicant tracking system.
  2. You fill in their form, with their questions, under their privacy policy.
  3. Your application goes to them. It never passes through us.

Work at a VC does not receive, store or forward CVs, cover letters or any other application material. If you email us one, we will delete it and ask you to apply on the firm's site instead.

We will never apply for you

Some job products submit applications automatically. We do not, and this is a decision rather than a missing feature.

Writing into a firm's applicant tracking system requires a credentialed agreement with that firm. We would need one with every firm on this board. More importantly, an application you did not read is worth less than no application, and firms notice.

What a saved profile can eventually do is prefill a firm's own form and deep link you into it. You still press the button, on their site.

When the firm's form is broken

It happens: expired job requisitions, a moved careers page, a login wall that was not there last week.

  • If the destination 404s or redirects to a generic careers page, report the listing and include the role title.
  • If the firm's form itself errors, that is theirs to fix. Their careers page usually has a contact.

Following up

We have no visibility into any firm's pipeline. We cannot tell you whether they read your application, and we cannot pass a message on. Anyone who tells you otherwise about a job board is selling something.
